As a wedding photographer, I’ve worked at venues across Houston, the rest of Texas and beyond. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find the perfect wedding venue, and how time consuming the wedding venue search can be! To help newly engaged couples in the Houston area, I’ve provided a list of some of my favorite wedding venues in Houston.
To be clear, Houston has no shortage of wedding venues, and there are many great choices for your wedding! So to hopefully save you some time and energy in your venue search, here are some of my favorite wedding venues in Houston, Texas.
The Houstonian
Address: 111 N Post Oak Ln, Houston, TX
Website: https://www.houstonian.com/weddings-events
The Houstonian is my first choice in the list of best wedding venues in Houston. It is an insanely popular venue in Houston because of the luxurious and elegant experience it offers its guests. The hotel is situated on an 18-acre wooded oasis, and the stunning landscape surrounding it is only made better by the exceptional service of the staff trained to cater to guests in various ceremonies.
It has a distinct ambiance that is both soothing and elegant, making it a perfect venue for wedding events. Its wooded backdrop makes it an excellent outdoor wedding venue studded with vibrant carpets, detailed wall furnishings, four ballrooms with elegant interior design, and a space that can accommodate up to 400 guests. If you’re thinking of having a larger wedding, such as a multi-day South Asian wedding, the Houstonian should be on the top of your wedding venue lists.
The POST
Address: 401 Franklin St, Houston, TX
Website: https://www.posthtx.com/venuerental
The POST, Houston, is one of my favorite Houston wedding venues because of its history, its design, its architecture, and what it has to offer as a wedding venue. The venue got its name because it used to house the USPS headquarters until 2015, when it was redesigned to create an architectural landmark and a hub of activity in downtown Houston.
The POST can be rented out as a wedding venue and is able to house up to 250 guests. The couple and guests get access to the private rooftop venue, Outpost, which offers the most stunning skyline views of Houston and aa covered outdoor space for all the celebrations.
You can also rent access to the X Atrium which can give you additional space for larger dinners and dance parties.
Chateau Cocomar
Address: 14525 Champions Dr, Houston, TX
Website: https://chateaucocomar.com/weddings
The list of best wedding venues in Houston complete without talking about Chateau Cocomar. It is a one-of-a-kind castle-style ballroom that is both extensive in size and features. It can house up to 1000 guests (yes, one thousand!) in its 37,000 square foot French-style estate in a quiet corner of Northwest Houston.
I like it so much because of its castle-like features, such as the elegant architecture, imported antiques, marble flooring, gold accents, and magnificent chandeliers. Setting up your wedding here may make you feel like you traveled through a portal and stepped into the palace of Versailles.
The Chateau has lush gardens, a European gazebo, two grand ballrooms, seven suites, and outstanding service. All these things come together to give an exclusive experience to a couple in love about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.
McGovern Centennial Gardens
Address: 1500 Hermann Dr, Houston, TX
Website: https://www.hermannpark.org/mcgovern-centennial-gardens-rental-venues/
McGovern Centennial Gardens are an 8-acre botanical garden location that serves as a cheerful oasis in the middle of Houston. It can be the perfect outdoor wedding venue if that is something you and your partner are looking for. It is situated near the Texas Medical Centre, Houston, and has been designed by some of the best planners, designers, and architects.
As a wedding venue, this expansive location offers The Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion. It is an indoor space with a glass wall, and it opens up towards an open space with picturesque views of cascading water fountains at its front.
The Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion can seat up to 150 guests. All in all, the McGovern Centennial Gardens can be your venue of celebration amidst nature without compromising comfort, luxury, and high-quality service.
The Bell Tower on 34th
Address: 901 W 34th St, Houston, TX
Website: https://thebelltoweron34th.com/
The Bell Tower on 34th is one of my favorite wedding venues in Houston to recommend to my clients. This venue offers intimate and contemporary courtyard garden spaces perfectly complemented by a modern architectural design.
Its building attracts couples due to its columns, vaulted ceilings, and decoration profile inspired by Italian architecture. This venue’s simplistic yet bold beauty is enough to make to-be-wed couples fall in love with it.
The best part of The Bell Tower is the lush green gardens, where couples can get a chance to capture amazing portraits.
